Silo Roof Painting & Agricultural Roof Coating
Protective roof coating for grain silos, bin roofs, fertilizer towers, and agricultural production facilities.
MPC coats silo roofs and agricultural roof structures where weather exposure, product protection, and site safety all matter.
We work on grain silo roofs, bin roofs, fertilizer towers, seed tanks, and related agricultural structures using coating systems selected for roof shape, substrate condition, flexibility, and access.
The process includes condition review, surface preparation, sealing or primer where needed, elastomeric or urethane coating selection, and planning around active agricultural operations.

Silo Roof Coating Scope

Grain Silo Roof Coating
Protective coating systems for grain silo roofs, bin roofs, and agricultural storage structures.
Silo roofs protect valuable product, so roof coating is both an asset-protection and contamination-risk issue. MPC coats grain silo roofs, bin roofs, seed tanks, fertilizer towers, and related agricultural structures.
We evaluate roof geometry, access, substrate condition, product sensitivity, and site operations before selecting elastomeric, urethane, or high-solids coating systems.
- Grain bin and silo roof coating
- Agricultural storage and production-site roof work
- Waterproofing and sealing for weather exposure
- Planning around active farm and processing operations

Elastomeric & Urethane Systems
Flexible coating options for seasonal movement, weather exposure, and sloped steel surfaces.
Elastomeric coatings are used where flexibility is important, especially on agricultural structures exposed to seasonal temperature swings. For coned or sloped steel roofs, MPC may recommend epoxy high-solids urethane systems based on condition and performance needs.
For waterproofing and sealing silo bin roofs, asphalt-based urethane elastomer coatings with non-slip aggregate may be appropriate when safety and access are part of the scope.
- Flexible elastomeric coating options
- Epoxy high-solids urethane systems for sloped steel roofs
- Non-slip aggregate options where access requires it
- Cold-temperature application options when conditions allow

Agricultural Site Planning
Access, safety, containment, and scheduling plans for active agricultural sites.
Agricultural roof coating projects often happen around active loading, storage, and processing schedules. MPC plans access, lifts, fall protection, overspray control, product protection, and crew movement before work starts.
The result is a coating project built around the facility's practical constraints instead of a one-size-fits-all roof painting approach.
- Access planning for tall and sloped agricultural roofs
- Coordination around active storage and production schedules
- Overspray and product-protection planning
- Safety-first approach for elevated roof work
Our Silo Roof Coating Process
Initial Assessment & Infrared Survey
We begin with a thorough assessment including an infrared survey of your existing roof system to ensure it is dry and suitable for coating. This crucial step determines the best approach for your specific roof.

We meticulously assess the condition of flashings, seams, pipe boots, drainage systems, and other protrusions to ensure they are in good shape and identify any repairs needed.
We collaborate with local roofing contractors to address any repairs beyond what simple sealing could fix. This ensures repairs are executed correctly, providing a superior final product.
The most crucial step in the coatings process. Without proper cleaning, etching, and preparation, coatings are destined for premature failure. We use SSPC SP1 solvent cleaning with 3500-5000 psi pressure washing and eco-friendly degreasers.
If the surface doesn't pass an adhesion test, we apply primer. We ensure a stronger bond by striping all seams and flashings with primer or fiberglass-based primer/sealer. Protrusions and gaps are sealed with seam seal tape or sealant.
Your roof will be coated and sealed with high-quality coating systems. We typically apply 1-2 coats depending on the warranty desired, creating a seamless, durable, and waterproof membrane.

What Our Clients Say
“Markley Precision Company was easy to work with and the quality of their work is second to none. I have used them on three separate projects and have been very pleased with the quality of work each time. No job seems to be too big or too small. I have used them to blast and paint a 30,000 gallon propane tank, and to blast and paint our vertical bulk storage vessels for nitrogen, oxygen, and argon. They've even done work for me on the Lake Erie Islands, as well, which presented logistical challenges, but MPC didn't miss a beat. I would recommend MPC 100 out of 100 times.”
Matt Drennen
“Very happy with the work completed so far with MPC. Last year, I had them paint 5 of our 30,000 gallon bullet tanks. The work was completed quickly and professionally. With a years worth of age on them now, they still look as good as new! I was so pleased with their work on the tanks, I hired them to complete an even larger, more complex project blasting and recoating a natural gas processing mechanical refrigeration unit. Even when some concerns came up, they quickly remediated the situation. Extremely happy with the work they've performed!”
Paul Teeters
“MPC Sandblasting and Painting have serviced various locations for us. They have ensured a positive experience from start to finish. The staff is very helpful and quick with responses as well as their services. Their work is just as great! We look forward to many more opportunities to work with this team.”
Lindsey Bennett
“MPC Sandblasting has performed admirably in providing blasting services to US Screen in support of our operations. Their approach is very professional and their pricing is good for the quality of the work performed.”
Doug Dickason
