Suitability is assessed for each substrate and test area. Media, pressure and technique are selected for the surface and specification; not every surface can be blasted without damage.
We offer traditional sandblasting, wet abrasive blasting, dry ice blasting, soda blasting, laser blasting, shot blasting, bristle blasting, and ultra-high-pressure water jetting. Each method has its strengths, and we recommend the best option for your project's needs, budget, and timeline.
Our eco-friendly abrasive options include recycled crushed-glass media, selected where appropriate for the surface and project. Dust controls, containment, debris collection and disposal are planned for the materials being removed. Garnet is another abrasive option selected for the substrate and specification. Crystalline-silica content must be assessed using the selected media’s SDS.
Blasting can damage unsuitable substrates. Assess the substrate and a test area before selecting media, pressure and technique. Not every surface or existing coating is suitable for the same method.
DFT measures dry coating thickness; surface cleanliness and profile are assessed separately. Cleanliness, dust, soluble salts and profile are assessed against the project specification, using appropriate inspection methods.
Occupied-area blasting requires segregation, containment, ventilation and cleanup planned for the substrate, removed contaminants and adjacent work. We coordinate scheduling to reduce disruption. Isolation, shutdowns and cure periods may be required. MPC personnel will confirm the operating restrictions and estimated duration for your project.
We can coordinate blasting and coating in one scope. Surface acceptance and coating timing must meet the specified system requirements; do not assume a universal no-flash-rust window.
